What is MOOC Conservation

MOOC Conservation is a partnership between IUCN-PAPACO and Senghor University in Alexandria. On this site, you will find different courses related to conservation, with a certain stress on protected area management.

What is a MOOC?

MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) are one of the latest advances in distance learning. Composed of online courses that are meant for an unlimited number of participants, MOOCs give anyone with an Internet connection access to courses on diverse subjects. They are usually made of short thematic videos, quizzes, automatically or peer-graded assessments, recommended readings, etc.

Do we get a certificate after completing a MOOC?

You receive a certificate of completion after having completed a MOOC and passing the exams. The credits allocated to each MOOC are related to the Certificate of Open Studies, which we are working on launching this year. To receive this certificate, you will have to pass all the MOOCs, and sit a final exam on site, which will lead to validating 15 credits. The certificate will be recognised and given by Senghor University. More information will be communicated in the coming months, so be sure to follow us on Facebook and sign up for our newsletter to receive the information you need.
